1. Maintenance Questions:

What do we need to keep our splicer in optimal condition?
  1. Regular Cleaning – See below link

  2. Basic Adjustment
    – Most alignment error issues can be resolved by performing “Quick Optimize”

What is Arc Calibration and Why We need to do it?

Arc Calibration adjusts the arc power to current environment condition.
It is recommended to perform Arc Calibration, when there are dramatic temperature, humidity and altitude changes before start splicing.

Perform Arc Calibration, if you bring splicer to Las Vegas from Alaska.

Perform Step #5 on below link
See How To Ark Calibration

What is Stabilize Electrodes and Why We need to do it?

Two fibers need to meet where the Arc hits, and Stabilize electrodes will help find it.

Please perform “Stabilize Electrodes” when you replace electrode.

For Ribbon Splicer See This Video

For Single Splicer See this PDF file (Step 4)

How to & how often do we need to replace Electrodes?

It is highly recommended to change the electrodes after every 3,000 splicing.
To replace electrodes, please go to Maintenance Menu and perform “#3 Replace Electrodes”
